Without a well-mapped route, no order can be executed effectively. Over the years we have acquired a range of contacts at shipping terminals throughout Europe, Ukraine, the former CIS countries and Asia. We are able to get there by every means of transport: rail, road, sea and from the air. Our knowledge of many trade routes and our ability to effectively plan a transport plan makes us one of the market leaders in terms of reliability. We guarantee delivery on time, quickly and safely – at a competitive price.
The following are our most frequent shipping routes, through which the vessels carrying out your shipments travel on a daily basis.
As we direct shipments towards the former CIS countries and Asia, we use two main transhipment terminals: in Małaszewicze and Siemianówka. There, our teams work to receive the cargo and reload it onto the broad-gauge railway. After the transshipment process, the wagons set off ahead as far as towards China.
In the instance of rail shipments from across the eastern border towards Europe or Ukraine, we carry out a reverse process. At the terminals in Małaszewicze or Siemianówka, the broad gauge railway wagons are unloaded and their contents land on lorry trailers or in European narrow gauge railway wagons. From there they set off by road or rail to the rest of Europe.
Freight services to and from Ukraine are some of our most frequent orders. When transporting goods between Poland and Ukraine, we use the LHS line dedicated to freight transport – the Broad Gauge Metallurgy Line, also known as Line 65. This is the easternmost broad gauge line in Europe, running from the station of Gródek near Hrubieszów to the station of Sławków Południowy. Along its entire length – i.e. at the intermediate stations Zamość Bortatycze, Szczebrzeszyn, Wola Baranowska, Staszów, Gołuchów and Olkusz – it is possible to load, reload and unload goods from the railway to a different means of transport.
However, we do not just use one line to transport our goods. We serve several other border stations where goods are constantly on the move:
Every one of these stations operates transshipments from narrow gauge railway to broad gauge railway, as well as from broad gauge railway to narrow gauge railway and cars. By using several border points for shipping, we are able to provide our contractors with particularly favourable transport conditions from and to Ukraine.
When shipping between Ukraine and European countries, we also use another border point located in the south-east – the town of Chop in Ukraine. There, we transport our goods by narrow-gauge rail or truck from Europe, or by broad-gauge rail from Ukraine.
There is a complex terminal there, which allows us to efficiently tranship even entire train sets and proceed onwards.
As we have already mentioned, we also operate sea transport. We have contacts in ports in all the countries we cover. We bring goods to port terminals and then transship them onto ships. Shipments from Ukraine go to ports in Georgia, Turkey or Romania, among others, from where they can continue on to Asian and former CIS countries.
On the other hand, we receive cargo from ports in Germany, Poland or Lithuania, where we reload it onto rail and road transport to other countries in Europe, Ukraine, the former CIS countries and Asia.
We are constantly looking after the quality of our network and expanding it – when you entrust us with your shipment, you can be sure that it will reach its destination safely and quickly!

Transshipment terminals are being set up at locations where there is a change of transport medium. In the case of our eastern border and rail transport, this is necessary because of the different standard in track gauging. In Poland, there are already 30 such terminals, in our western neighbours the number is up to five times higher. The extensive and constantly expanding infrastructure in our country is making modal transport increasingly popular. Our company specialises in transshipment of wagons between western and eastern tracks, including further transport in either direction.
Our offer includes the following services:
– direct transshipment from railway wagons to lorries
– transhipment from truck to truck
– unloading from wagons and trucks to storage yards
– loading from storage yard to trucks and wagons.
In addition, we cooperate with transhipment terminals all over the world, thanks to which we are able to efficiently transport your goods to all the countries we serve: Ukraine and other European countries, Asian countries and former CIS countries.
Efficient transport between Europe and the countries of the former USSR and Asia requires extraordinary coordination. In Europe, the standard is the so-called narrow gauge railway (1435 mm gauge), while in the East the generally accepted standard is the so-called broad gauge railway (1520 mm gauge). In order to transport goods across the border by rail, it is required to change trains from narrow gauge to broad gauge and vice versa via a transshipment terminal.
Without terminals, transporting goods would be impossible or much more complicated and time-consuming – ORMEA has ensured that our customers do not have to worry about international transit.
We have rail, trucks and ships in ports at our disposal. Depending on your demands, we engage them in the right combination to ensure the best transport times.
Our fleet will reach every corner of Europe, Ukraine, Asia and the former CIS countries. We select the most optimal route and means of transport for each shipment. Trust us and place your goods with us and we will deliver them safely and on time! Contact us now!
